Sumi Naga tribe of Nagaland are the ones celebrating this festival with extreme amount of excitement and joy. It is celebrated in order to feel happy and triumph about the most fruitful season of the year. Litsaba is the deity if fruitfulness and people believe him to protect the crops and thus prayers are done along with some offerings. Growing of crops is one of the most blissful feeling for all the farmers and hence people of Nagaland believe in praying and celebrating this time with utmost fun and fervor.

Major attractions of Tuluni Festival

This festival is then enriched by serving the rice beer and folk songs and ballads being performed which adds to the whole vibe of festivity.

Also, the day is believed to be auspicious to begin the new lives and get married. The festival usually happens in the month of July.

People exchange gifts in order to show their love and mark the day of festival. Everyone among the tribe sing and dance to make it even more memorable.

Dimapur is the nearest big city to the state. People can easily reach different places of the state via air, rail and road connected to Dimapur which is about 75 kms from there. The nearest airport and railhead are in Dimapur itself. It is connected to many major cities nearby like Guwahati and Kolkata. One can take shared taxis from Dimapur to Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland.
