Dongargarh is a pilgrim city that lies about 35 kilometres west of Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh. This place is a significant destination as a lot of pilgrims come here from across the nation on an annual basis. The word Dongargarh means mountains and the Garh in this word signifies a fort. Major Attractions in and Around Dongargarh

1. Pragyagiri. It’s a hilly range and is considered a must-visit place in Chhattisgarh. Here, one can appreciate Lord Gautama Buddha’s statue. You will have to ascend 225 steps which will lead you to the mountain. The construction of this place was done sometime around 1998.

2. Bambleshwari Temple. The temple is named as Badi Bamleshwari and is located at a height of 1,600 ft. There is another temple which is known as Choti Bambleshwari. The distance between both the temples is just ½ km. These temples are revered and visited by a great number of devotees who come here especially during the time of Navratri.

3. Jain temple. Visit the Jain temple which is situated on the Chandragiri Hills and is famous for the ancient statue of the Teerthankara Chandraprabhuji. A large number of devotees visit this temple and offer prayer to the deity for divine blessings.

4. Amba Water Park. This is actually one of the most refreshing places to explore if you want to relax with your loved ones and are looking forward to spending some quality time. Here, you can also spend your entire day in the swimming pool where various water slides will help you with the adventure activities. By Air. The nearest airport is the Raipur airport which is situated at a distance of around 100-150 km from this place. After landing, you can get a cab, taxi or some other means of transportation to reach your destination. 

By Train. The nearest railhead is in Raipur. You can easily get a train to Raipur from various nearby cities. Once you deboard at the station, you can consider taking some means of public transportation like a cab or a bus to reach Dongargarh.
