After hearing so much about Prague I had a lot of expectations from it and the city surely didn’t disappoint me. In fact, it blew me away. We checked into our hotel which was in the heart of the city and soon left the hotel room as we were eager to explore. The city has a positive vibe and is bustling with people. It is summers in June and the city is flooded with tourists . The weather at this time of the year is ideal, neither cold nor hot.
The Bohemian and fairytale feel of Prague make it a perfect destination for vacationers who want a change from the beaches and mountains and love culture and history. Each building tells a story of its own.The castles boast of a rich cultural heritage.I personally loved the old world charm the city exudes. The cobbled streets add to the vintage charm. The architectural marvels make the city stand out.
The Stare Miasto is one such example of architectural brilliance. It’s a castle which looks as if its straight out of a Harry Potter movie.
Charles Bridge truly fascinates as one can see the beautiful river from it and the view of the city from the bridge is outstanding. One gets to see the color and vibrance of the city. There are artists sitting on the bridge making beautiful caricatures and sketches. There are musicians playing beautiful melodies. The bridge itself boasts of exemplary architecture and is a masterpiece.
The Old Town Square is full of souvenir shops which showcase the true spirit of Prague. There are lovely horse carriages and vintage cars which one can hire.It adds to the old world charm. On the other hand the city does not disappoint the people looking for latest technology and means of transport with E-bikes and E-rickshaws. Segway tours are also organised. There are small shops selling delicious homemade ice creams and other local food products.
Other amazing buildings are the Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock and Powder Tower all of which are architectural wonders taking one back to the old bohemian times.
