1. A statement issued by the Civil Aviation Ministry, India, confirms that the country is now ready to lift the ban on commercial international flights. The ban had come into effect in March 2020 following the rapid spread of the Coronavirus. Starting 27th March 2022, the commercial operations will be resumed. The Ministry has, however, pointed out that following the Covid-19 guidelines will be mandatory. 

2. Goa attracts an impressive number of Russian tourists annually, with the rush peaking during the charter season. The season usually lasts till mid-May. However, due to the ongoing turbulence between Russia and Ukraine, all airline services, including charter, from Russia are suspended. This is bad news for Goa Tourism. Most of the travelers abroad the charters are typically nationals from Russia, Georgia, Belarus, and many Commonwealth of Independent States.

3. The capital region’s longest zipline is open to the public. Called Delta 105, the zipline has opened in an army-themed park about 30 minutes from Gurugram, near Manesar. The length of the zipline is an astounding 224m, with the starting point at 40ft high.

The entire park covers an area of 26acres and has about ten luxurious tents with attached toilets. Besides the much-talked-about zipline, the park offers innumerable adventure activities like magic shows, puppet shows, animal rides, maze, and paintball activities; a war zone replica offering guided tours and more.

4. The National Highways Authority of India is busy completing the construction of the 670-km long Delhi-Amritsar-Katra corridor. Once completed, the total distance between Delhi and Katra will be 588 km, taking about seven hours for pilgrims to cover. Currently, it takes about 12 hours for worshippers to reach Katra from Delhi. 

The corridor will connect some of the holiest places in North India like Katra, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Kapurthala, and Kathua.

5. Announcing the decision, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, informed that the long-term visa for tourists has now been approved. The goal is to attract USD 3 billion FDI by 2026. Since the island country is known for its mesmerizing scenic beauty and awesome beaches, the government has decided to offer tourists the chance to invest in the country and work here.
