Arambol beach is totally different from the other popular and rustic beaches of Goa like Calangute. Life at Arambol Beach is rainbow-like! Surrounded by lush green plantation, sparkling blue water, golden sand, and beach huts, this beach has a serene ambience that will let you relax and breathe in purity. Apart from that, you will also come across a great Bohemian culture which the millennials will instantly fall in love with! History of Arambol Beach 

Arambol has been a fisherman village for a long time now and the name of the village eventually led to the name of the beach. Arambol became popular in the 1960s when hippies arrived here and introduced Goa to the Hippy culture. Harmal is the local name of Arambol which is also the northernmost beach of Goa.  

Tourists who arrive at the beach often indulge in resting on the beach and enjoying sunbathing. Apart from that, people also enjoy going on a walk by the shore which is simply soul-rejuvenating. All in all, this is the perfect getaway for all ages, whether its kids, young adults, or senior citizens. Also, a lot of music programs, water sports, and adventure activities are there that make this beach interesting and worth visiting.

Major Attractions at Arambol Beach  

The Banyan Tree Baba. The famous Baba who sits at a hilltop near the beach will amaze you with his wisdom. To reach the Banyan Tree on the hilltop, you will have to go for a mini trek of just about 20 minutes. Locals claim that the Baba organizes parties for tourists and does all the arrangements from food to liquor.    

Sweet Water Lake. While you are heading towards the hilltop for The Banyan Tree Baba, you will find a sweet water lake on your way which offers fun activities. You can bathe here or indulge yourself in various water sports. The lake is located very close to the sea and this is a major point of amazement for many because the sea has saltwater while the lake has sweet, even after being in close proximity to the sea. Locals claim that it’s a freshwater lake that has healing properties as well.    

The Beach Side Market. When you are at Arambol Beach of North Goa, you can’t skip the beach-side market that is full of great cuisines, clothes, accessories, handmade decor items, souvenirs, and a lot more. If you are exploring the beach-side market, you will also get introduced to exotic Goan cuisines like prawn curry, crabs, tiger prawns, lobsters, etc.

Things to Do in Arambol Beach

Enjoy Water Sports. Goa is a place that will turn all your water sports and travel adventure dreams into a reality. The place is perfect to indulge in boat surfing, parasailing, skiing, surfing, and swimming. If you are new to all of it, then Arambol is suitable for you as it does not have very high waves. 

Shop from Souvenir Shops. There are several souvenir shops around the beach from where you can take a bit of history, memories, and souvenirs with you in the form of accessories. Sagia jewelry, La Alkemista, Nadine Essra Designs, and Tara Verde are some of the popular shops that have really good reviews and are visited the most by the tourists.

Calangute Market Square. The Calangute Market Square is just a few miles away from Arambol Beach. You can find a wide range of stalls selling a range of souvenirs, clothes, accessories, leather items, traditional handicrafts, metal crafts, carpets, seashells, trinkets, etc.

Sightseeing. Sidelined with an array of Palm trees, Arambol Beach holds a scenic beauty to allure you. Once you are here, you can’t stop yourself from taking beautiful pictures.

Sundown Live Music. The nightlife of Goa is undoubtedly amazing and it's much more interesting and engaging at Arambol Beach. Sundown Music show is a totally divine experience that will make you feel like you are in some other world. Popular musicians and bands perform here at the beach.

How to Reach Arambol Beach

By Air. The nearest airport to Arambol is Dabolim International airport. The airport is well-established and well-connected to other regions of Goa so, one will not have any issue regarding the local commuting options to reach Arambol Beach at Pernem District in North Goa. The beach is nearly 60km from the airport and will take you around 2 hours of drive to reach there. 

By Road. Travelling to Goa by road is a dream plan for many and if you are to turn this dream into a reality then here is a piece of information that will help you. Distance in Kilometers to reach Arambol beach is nearly 1,800, 600, 2,200, and 620 from Delhi, Mumbai Kolkata and Bengaluru, in that order. Tourists and visitors who are arriving at Goa may also come by special inter-state tourist buses.  

By Rail. The nearest railway station is Pernem Railway Station. It only requires travel of approx. 20km and 40 minutes to reach Arambol Beach. One may take the locally available transportation like a taxi, local bus, or an auto-rickshaw.
