Exclusive Interview of Famous Bollywood Actress, Jaswinder Gardner

: What is travelling for you?

Discovering new possibilities and fun exploration.

: What’s the most fun childhood memory you have?

My first road trip when I was in 7th standard. We travelled to Shimla, Mussoorie and Haridwar with our family friends and the entire trip was full of fun. The scenic beauty of mountains, staying at different hotels and all those beautiful moments are etched in my heart.

: One place in India that is close to your heart?

Punjab. I love the food, culture and vibe of the state. I stayed there for a brief moment but I wish to stay longer and explore different aspects of this colourful place.

: Who is your favourite travel buddy?

My husband. He is a fun loving guy. He is the one who pushes me to explore new things which I wouldn’t have ever done.

: Which place you won’t mind being stranded at?

Hollywood, it’s a real tinseltown.

: One unique travel experience that moved your heart?

I was travelling to New Zealand during my early days of modelling, some 20 years back or so. I was buying something from the airport and I realized I don’t have enough cash. So there was this lady who came to rescue and paid the balance amount to the cashier. It was a small amount but this humble gesture from a complete stranger moved my heart.

: One place in India where you would like to travel with your girl squad.

Only Goa, nowhere else.

: Any unique festival that is a must see.

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa is always interesting. It is one of the most significant film festivals in the continent.

: Name a person whose travel diary you would like to read.

I would like to know how Oprah Winfrey travels. She is my role model.

: Name one place in India where nothing is far.

I think Bombay is quite centralised as you can go all over the world.

: If you have to go on a solo trip, which place in India would you choose?

I would like to explore Kerala. I would actually station myself in some ayurvedic spa and enjoy the me time.

: What’s your biggest fear when it comes to travelling?

Mishaps. I just keep praying to reach safely.

: How do you manage your fitness routine while travelling?

Travelling or not, I religiously wake up at least an hour before my family. I use this time for my fitness. I pick up a small exercise routine and explore the places on foot in order to burn more calories than I consume because when I travel, I binge on local delicacies.

: What’s your all time favourite dish from the Indian menu?

Punjabi khana, anytime. I love Paranthas, Chole and everything Punjabi. And also home cooked food by my mom. My parents are from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh so the food that my mom cooks is a blend of both states. It’s unique and delish!

: What’s the weirdest food you have ever tried on your trip?

I am very selective in picking up dishes but once I ordered some veg dish in Thailand and they served prawns with a lot of spinach. It was quite weird.

: The best travel advice you have ever received.

My husband advised me to always carry a torch and a pen knife when I am travelling.

: What will you drop if your baggage exceeds?

I would drop clothes because I would go and buy some more.

: What’s one travel habit that you want to change?

I always end up overpacking. Despite knowing the fact that I would shop regional stuff, I still end up overpacking and I run out of space in my bag.

: What’s the most expensive thing you have bought on a trip?

I bought a super expensive LV bag.

: Which destination in India is on your bucket list?

Ladakh. My husband and I are looking forward to it.

: Would you like to plan your road trip with a circuit planner tool?

Of course! If my research hassle and time is reduced by a tool then why not?
