Short article by Adotrip.com

In an endeavour to enhance tourism in the state, the government of Himachal Pradesh is contemplating formulating a new tourism policy to promote lesser-known destinations within the state. Recently, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, assessed various initiatives focused on developing the Kangra district as the premier tourism hub of the state. These initiatives include establishing a roller skating rink in Sakoh, a golf course in Paragpur, an upscale resort in Menjha, a tourism village in Nagrota, and an Aero City in Kangra. The Chief Minister disclosed this information during a recent meeting of the tourism department.

Furthermore, the government intends to establish a satellite village with a theme-based approach in Naura Khad, located in the Nagrota area of the Kangra district. The Chief Minister also emphasised that the government is actively working on enhancing connectivity between the state and the rest of the country. As part of these endeavours, the Kangra airport is being expanded; a greenfield airport is being constructed in Nagchala, Mandi district, and new heliports are being built across the state. The first phase involves the construction of nine heliports, namely Jaskot in Hamirpur district, Rakkar and Palampur in Kangra district, Sultanpur in Chamba district, Manali in Kullu district, Jispa, Sissu, and Rangrik in Lahaul-Spiti district, and Sharbo in Kinnaur district. The remaining seven heliports will be constructed in the subsequent phase.
