Situated in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, wildlife enthusiasts flock to these jungles as they offer frequent sightings of royal tigers. Bandhavgarh National Park is home to more than 22 species of mammals and 250 plus species of avifauna. 

Situated at the height of 800 meters above sea level, Bandhavgarh Fort gave the name to its surroundings. An hour-long trek to the fort offers ample views of the forest and surroundings and the jungle safaris are the most famous fun activities enjoyed by the visitors. 

Best Time To Visit Bandhavgarh National Park

The park remains open for visitors between October and June but the best time to visit Bandhavgarh National Park is between November and February, which is the peak season of tourism in the region.

1. National Park

Though the jungles of Bandhavgarh are the only attraction of this region, jeep safaris to catch a glimpse of the world-renowned Royal Bengal Tigers is the most popular activity to do here. Other than spotting tigers, visitors enjoy camping under the night sky among nature the most. 

2. Bandhavgarh Fort

The meaning of Bandhavgarh is brother’s fort when translated to English, and that’s how the surrounding forests got their name. The fort is now in ruins but an hour-long trek to the fort is enjoyed by most of the visitors. 

3. Rural Tourism At Tala Village

Experience the rural life of India at Tala Village. It is one of the major attractions near Bandhavgarh and one of the main entrances of the wildlife reserve. The village boasts mud houses that offer a simple lifestyle of this village.

4. Barmera Dam

History Of Bandhavgarh National Park

Bandhavgarh National Park is a tiger reserve in India, situated in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India. In 1968, an area of 105 square kilometers was declared a national park and then in 1993, it became a tiger reserve. The Maharajas of Rewa used these jungles as their hunting grounds.
