One of the best temples to visit in Vrindavan, Banke Bihari temple tops the list when it comes to seek divinity of Lord Krishna. It is among the 7 temples of Thakur of Vrindavan that were constructed in 1864. The main idol in the temple is in the child form and Lord Krishna is standing in the Tribhanga posture. There are many stories of Banke Bihari getting carried away with the affection and devotion which is why priests keep a veil between devotees and Lord. This redstone temple in Raman Reiti, Vrindavan dates back to the 16th century. The temple was commissioned by Raja Man Singh I of Jaipur and originally had seven storeys. However, during the reign of Aurangzeb, the top four floors were demolished and the original deity of the temple was shifted to Jaipur. Despite destruction, the temple is still known for its impressive architecture that is worth witnessing.
