1 . Bhangarh Fort, Alwar

Moreover, what is somewhat interesting to know is the fact that the Archaeological Society of India has given warnings and has even forbidden the tourists to be present in the vicinity after the sunsets. 

2. Brij Raj Bhavan, Kota

The Brij Raj Bhavan, Kota was built in the early years of the 19th century. However, it was later on converted into a heritage hotel in the year 1980. But, what is worth knowing is the fact that it has been claimed that this place is home to the harmless ghost of Major Burton himself. It is believed that the Major was killed by the Indian Sepoys during the Mutiny of 1857. Now, here is a little funny thing - if the stories are to be believed then, this ghost roams and even slaps the guards who are asleep on their duties.  

3. Dumas Black Sand Beach, Surat

Earlier Dumas beach was used as a burial ground. And perhaps that is the reason that they say this place is haunted. People have also claimed to hear someone whispering when they were alone on the beach. And there have been some cases in which the people didn’t return at all from their evening walk. Tunnel No. 33 which has been located on the Kalka-Shimla train route is also regarded as one of the most haunted places in Shimla. If we go back in the history of this place then we get to know that it was built by a person named Captain Barog who was a British engineer. And it is his spirit that is particularly rumored to roam in the tunnel along with even having a friendly conversation with the people who might see him. Just imagine yourself having a conversation with a ghost? How would you manage it if came across such a situation? 

5. Charleville Mansion, Shimla

This mansion was built in the British Era and it was in the year 1913 that it was rented by a British officer Victor Bayley along with his wife. But then he got to know that the house was home to a poltergeist. So, then he decided to further test this acclaim owing to which he locked the specific room where it was reported that most of the haunted activities take place. And when he again opened it, he found the room in shatters. Furthermore, what is sort of unbelievable is the fact that many other similar stories have also been reported by the Bayleys along with the subsequent residents.

6. Malcha Mahal, Delhi

The Malcha Mahal in Delhi particularly dates back to the Tughlaq era who was also one of the last descendants of the royal family of Oudh. Moreover, she committed suicide by drinking grounded diamond. Then it is said that her ghost haunts the royal palace area ever since. However, still, no one knows if this is true or not.

D'Souza Chawl in Mumbai is a place said to have been haunted by a lady ghost who fell into the well and died. People living around this place have the myth that she comes out at night and does not harm anybody. The well is sealed, but the scary atmosphere haunts even the tenants and the visitors. It is believed to be an apparition seen as benign, ranging around the well and setting everything to an eerie feeling after the sun has set.

12. The Shaniwarwada Fort - Pune

The Shaniwarwada Fort, located in Pune, is famous for haunting the murdered young prince of the same kind. His piercing cries for help echo through the fort at every full moon, so it is said, reminding them about betrayal. Often, visitors report experiencing intense fear and also hearing echoes of his cries, especially along the areas that were reported to be his place of death.

13. GP Block - Meerut

GP Block is known for its paranormal activities. Locals and passersby have reported four men sitting inside and drinking beer. Besides, a lady in a red dress came out of the building. The senseless building has been a well-visited point for those full of irrationality, excited ghost hunters, and thrill-seekers whose goal was to bring to the surface the experiences of an unexplained chill in the air and eerie silence surrounding it.

14. The Vrindavan Society - Thane

The Vrindavan Society is said to have the most haunted residential complexes in Thane. The residents and the security team have reported incidents of paranormal activity at several points, like slapping sounds echoing through empty corridors at night and the sound of footsteps. Most common is the man who died and now haunts society, sometimes even slapping the inhabitants of the darkness.

15. Bombay Supreme Court - Bombay

For over 30 years, the Bombay Supreme Court has given stage to many hauntings, specifically in one courtroom. Legal professionals mention an evil spirit that provokes an unexplainable oppressive feeling, which disrupts the judicial process. It happens mostly in the case of murders and other serious crimes.

16. Delhi Cantt – Delhi

There is always a story that Delhi Cantt is haunted by a lady dressed in white, asking for lifts from passing vehicles, and then suddenly disappears into thin air. Many drivers from their cars have seen her while driving during the night. She appears while one is on the stretch of the road that passes through the Cantt, only to disappear as one slows down. The place is eerie past sunset.

17. Raj Kiran Hotel—Lonavala, Maharashtra

One of the reasons why Raj Kiran Hotel in Lonavala is often referred to by ghost hunters is the large number of reports from guests who stayed in the hotel. These reports claim bed sheets get removed from sleeping people, and at night, strange blue lights appear. It is said that some rooms are so paranormally active that they don't rent them out to guests anymore. Many reports by visitors who leave speak about the heavy air of unease and being watched.

18. Sanjay Van (near Qutab Institutional Area) – New Delhi

Sanjay Van is dense forest land around the Institutional Area of Qutab, New Delhi, having chilling ambient characteristics. It is a matter of belief that the spirits of wandering children, who are said to be dead, live here at night. Giggling and crying have been heard by many, and some have claimed that there are even human-like figures darting through the trees. Temperature dramatically drops, and the impression of being followed is quite common.

19. Dow Hill in Kurseong - Darjeeling

Dow Hill in Kurseong is known for some haunting instances, especially at Victoria Boys High School, where even after students go home, footsteps are heard panning the hallways. Many woodcutters have claimed to have seen a headless boy walking down the road through the woods. Even in such an instance, the area is cloaked in eternal mist, and visitors always speak of deep-seated melancholy and unexplained dread.
