1. As per the latest mandate from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, wearing masks is now required at all airports in India. The passengers who are not wearing masks while travelling may be denied boarding the flight or put on the No-fly list.
2. As per Money.co.uk, Bangkok has been named the most affordable luxury Destination. The site has ranked Thailand's capital the highest on budgets, be it luxury hotels, resorts, car rentals, Michelin-starred restaurants, and more. The site mentions that a Mercedes-Benz car in Bangkok can be booked for about INR 4588, and a fine dining experience is priced at approximately INR 11,665. A night in a five-star hotel is about INR 22,942.
Brussels in Belgium has been ranked second for a budgeted luxury vacation, while Verona in Italy has been named third.
3. The greenfield project in Pernem, North Goa, is almost complete and is expected to open in the next three months. This is the second international airport in Goa after Dabolim Airport, which is in South Goa. Mopa Airport will be a civilian airport, unlike Dabolim, which is shared with the Indian Navy.
The opening of the Mopa Airport is in addition to a series of new tourism initiatives undertaken by the Goa government.
4. Traveling to Leh or Spiti by road is a daredevil task. However, it is essential to be updated about the road conditions and status before leaving home. The road connecting Srinagar to Leh is open for visitors now. Except for Fridays, Light Motor Vehicles can travel on this route from 5 am to 5 pm. From Manali to Leh, the road condition is fine except for travel restrictions in Upshi after 10 am. Traffic jams can be expected at Taglang La while traveling through Baralaha La and Lachung La must be caution-driven.
5. The Indian Railways has recently announced that passengers carrying extra luggage will have to pay extra. Passengers have to book their excess luggage with the parcel office. For example, passengers in sleeper class can carry about 40 kg of luggage. Passengers can carry 35 kg in the second class, while in AC First Class, not more than 70 kg will be allowed.
