1. We have all dreamt of traveling the world in our lives, but only a few can ever make it happen. Lexie Alford who is now 23 years of age has become the youngest person to have ever traveled to all the countries in the world. The unbelievable journey took her to every nook and corner of the world, which includes North Korea.
Her family owns a travel agency and she first began traveling with her parents. She had already been to 70 countries by the time she was just 18. Alford once said in an interview that her biggest dream was to live a year without school or work, so she saved up, and took a gap year to travel the world.
2. Iran is going to start issuing visas to international tourists from next month. After suspending the visas for almost 19 months due to the pandemic, the country has now announced that it will start issuing the service soon.
Tourism Minister Ezzatollah Zarghami stated that the issuance of tourist visas from land and air borders will resume from October 23.
As per the reports, a few weeks after the country detected its first cases of COVID-19 infection Iran banned the entry of foreign nationals since March last year. During a meeting of Iran's anti-Coronavirus taskforce, which was attended by Iran President Ebrahim Raisi too, the decision to restart visa services was taken recently.
3. Bali is all set to reopen for international tourists after a long wait. The Indonesian Tourism Minister stated that Bali will be reopening in October for foreign tourists. After delaying multiple plans to reopen earlier, the Central Government has stated that Bali is now ready to receive international tourists.
After attending the meeting at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic on September 24, its Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Sandiaga Uno announced that the central government is all prepared to reopen the international travel corridor in October. There were several government officials to analyze preparations regarding reopening the border for international visitors.
4. Uttarakhand's famous Char Dham Yatra has already begun and is attracting pilgrims from all over India. While the pandemic has hindered the pilgrimage ever since its outbreak in the country, the popular pilgrim circuit is now open. The state government now wants to simplify its registration process and provide some ease to lakhs of pilgrims who visit the state every year for Char Dham Yatra.
5. Machu Picchu has now become the first tourist destination to receive a carbon-neutral certificate. An institution that seeks to promote green and environmentally friendly tourism, Green Initiative awarded the certificate to the Historic and Natural Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. In terms of sustainability, the Green Initiative positioned Machu Picchu as a global reference.
According to the certification, With the intention of reducing 45 percent of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in 2030 and reaching neutrality in 2050, it seeks to drastically reduce carbon dioxide emissions of the Inca citadel.
