1. Known for its wax statues, the iconic Madame Tussauds London is going to reopen in Dubai later this year. The museum houses around 250 wax statues in London and is one of the major attractions of the city. The owner of Madame Tussauds group, Merlin Entertainments has now announced that the new museum in Dubai will boast wax statues of 60 global stars.
Visitors will be able to have a look at this star-studded museum in Dubai that will be showcasing the statues of some of the big names of this region. It is going to be located right next to Ain Dubai, which is a large observation wheel.
2. The government of Andhra Pradesh has announced to resume tourism in the state from 24th June. Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivas Rao made the announcement to reopen all the prime tourist attractions on Wednesday. He said that the numbers of positive cases have reduced in India so the tourist attractions can now be reopened from Thursday.
The Minister also mentioned that they will plan a roadshow across the country to popularise Andhra's tourist spots and tourism across the country. He also informed that the Blue Bay hotel at Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam, managed by the tourism board, will be developed with an investment of INR 164 crore.
3. Acts like lighting fire, cooking, using any sort of plastic, and throwing garbage at the famous Patnitop hill resort and its surrounding region is now a punishable offense as the authorities of Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir has imposed a complete ban on these activities.
According to reports, the Chief Executive Officer of Patnitop Development Authority, Sher Singh, has issued this order to safeguard the nature around this region.
Sher Singh added that Patnitop has been receiving a huge rush of visitors, who have been doing activities like the ones mentioned above and leaving behind nothing but trash.
4. A 25-year-old man from Navi Mumbai, Harshvardhan Joshi, has made a name for himself in the world of mountain climbing. He managed to conquer the mighty Mount Everest despite being COVID positive.
Not just this, his entire journey to the top of the world was eco-friendly to promote sustainability. He named this expedition as SangHarsh, which means challenges. Remembering his days, Harshvardhan said that he had no clue about the challenges he had to face to achieve his dream. In fact, reaching the Base Camp of Everest was not at all an easy task.
