1. Travel to God’s own country is now RT-PCR test-free for fully-vaccinated adults. The information was shared by Air India, the country’s leading air carrier, on Twitter. However, passengers need to carry the certificates of both doses to prove their vaccination completed status. It is good news for the travel industry as Kerala is one of the tourist hotspots in India. 

However, the relaxation of the norms does not mean that over-crowding or flexing Covid-19 norms are allowed. Since Kerala is also one of the major hotspots for Covid infections, passengers should undertake all precautions and adhere to the mandatory guidelines.

2. As part of the Dekho Apna Desh initiative, the Indian Railways has announced the start of the Shri Ramayana Yatra or the Ramayana Circuit Deluxe AC train. It will start from 7t November and will cover religious places connected with Lord Rama’s life. The total duration of the journey will be 16 nights/17 days.

The total package cost will be about INR 82,950 and will cover fully-airconditioned train accommodation, AC hotels in different cities, transfers and sightseeing costs in air-conditioned vehicles, travel insurance, and exclusive services of specially-appointed IRCTC Tour Managers.

Indian Railways further stated that only fully vaccinated adults would be allowed to undertake this journey.

3. The official Twitter handle Air India announced on 6th September that the bookings for flights to Saudi Arabia are now open. People keen to travel need to book their tickets through the Air India website, travel agents, or the call center. Passengers have been requested to read the applicable Covid guidelines carefully before booking their tickets. 

The decision to resume flights comes close on heels after UAE officially relaxed the restrictions for Indian passengers who are fully vaccinated. Some important guidelines include RT-PCR negative test reports within 72 hours of travel, vaccination certificate, registration of immunization dates on the Muqeem website, and confirmation through the Tawakalna app about their vaccination details.

4. This week, Bahrain moved India from the Red List, which means that it has now relaxed the travel restrictions on Indians. The removal came after high-level talks were held between Mr. V Muraleedharan, Minister of State (MEA), and Mr. Rashid Alzayani, the Foreign Minister of Bahrain.

However, there would be certain mandatory requirements, and Indian travelers need to comply with the same.

5. On the lines of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, Rajaji Tiger Reserve in Uttarakhand will now remain open throughout the year for visitors. Announcing the same, Chief Wildlife Warden of the Reserve, J S Suhag, informed that enthusiasts can now undertake the wildlife safari from Stayanarayan Mandir to Kasro any time of the year.
This announcement comes after the earnings from the Tiger Reserve have taken a hit due to Covid in the past few months. He also added that the locals whose livelihoods depend on the Tiger Reserve can now stabilize their finances.

6. The Leh Administration has announced that fully vaccinated people can now travel seamlessly to Ladakh without carrying any RT-PCR test report. As per reports, the requirement for travelers is that they need to be vaccinated with both the doses and at least fifteen days prior to travel. People who have received only one dose, however, need a negative test RT-PCR test report.

7. During the Cochin International Airport Limited’s Annual General Body Meeting, the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, announced the same. It will be a relief for thousands of people who can now reach their destinations faster with direct flights.

8. As per a report from the Aviation ministry, the Indian government might very soon allow passengers to carry small drone cameras on domestic flights, a facility that is not allowed at the moment. These drone cameras have excellent picture quality that helps people get some memorable clicks during vacations. 

An aviation official announced that the formalities are still being worked out. As yet, there is no clarity about whether the drone cameras will be allowed in check-in baggage or can accompany cabin baggage.
