The Chatri or Cenotaph was built by Maharani Laxmi Bai, who is also the wife of Raja Gangadhar Rao. The Cenotaph of Raja Gangadhar Rao is dedicated to Maharaja Gangadhar Rao, the king of Jhansi. The fine architecture seems enticing and instills in us a desire to have a look at the tomb.  It is a site of historical magnificence that still stands to occupy the cultural heritage of Jhansi. It is at a distance of 2 km from the Jhansi Fort.

The Chatri is set within a quadrangular walled structure and has two domed structures. They are approached by a small flight of stairs. The tomb has scriptures around and is covered with a beautiful garden and flowers. The cenotaph is surrounded by a lush green garden, an adjacent pond and rich architectural designs. The structure stands in the middle with high walls carved hollow on all four sides with 18th-century architectural designs.

Raja Mahal. Raja Mahal is work of fine architecture that drives you towards the perfection and eternal artistic work. The palace of Raja Gangadhar Rao decorated with mural paintings from the 18th century. It is about 1.5 km from the Cenotaph and can be reached via private vehicle or a rickshaw.  A great pleasure visiting Raja Mahal!

Barua Sagar. The municipal board of Jhansi, is worth exploring as it keeps tons of historic stories in locals. It is a town equipped with ancient temples, forts and monuments capturing the majestic past of Jhansi. The town also has a famous lake called the Baruasagar Tal. While it is situated at about 21 km away, this place is a must-visit if you're in Jhansi to experience its cultural heritage. So, history buffs, go there!

Lakshmi Tal and Lakshmi Temple. Lakshmi Tal or Talab is a beautiful pond was famous for hosting educational cultural activities to the inhabitants of Jhansi. At the edge of Lakshmi Tal is situated the magnificent Lakshmi Temple, built in the 18th century. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and was built like a palace. It is said that the queen Lakshmi Bai used to come to the temple by boat from the Lakshmi gate every Friday for offering prayers. At present, the temple is under the maintenance of the State Archaeology Department. The temple attracts a large number of a crowd during the Lakshmi Puja in Diwali.
