ZIRO MUSIC FESTIVAL: THE OUTDOOR CHARM OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH

June 27th, 2019

Isn’t it so apt to have music festivals? Like music is meant to be celebrated, to be shared, and to be proud of. Music is a world-known language. It is such an important part of our lives that celebrating it is probably the best thing we are doing. What is music for you? Say it aloud. A way to escape the crap. A way to heal your pain. A way to express your feelings when words fall less. There can be thousands of answers to this small and simple question and that is why it is so right to celebrate music in a way you perceive it. The first ever music festival that happened was in 1967 known as the Monterey Pop Festival and that made all the change. Today, we have a music festival every alternate day in different cities, states and countries and people are fond of them just like Indians are fond of Ziro Music Festival.

Festivals are celebrated for the long-lived traditions or customs and so is music, a long-lived custom of connecting and expressing. Ziro music festival is the storm of the North-east region of India and people from all over the world come to visit this united yet distinct carnival of Arunachal Pradesh. Nobody got to know when this bud of music starting in the Ziro district headquarters of Arunachal Pradesh became such a popular event for the nation. It is an exotic outdoor event which is filled with fun, music, culture and more.

The Exotic Ziro Valley

The district is a valley and is about 5500 feet above the sea level which adds to the sky-high aura of the place. The small town of the state has made its own dynamic and electrifying identity and all for the right reasons. The place is recognized as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO which again is an advantage. Coming to the festival specifically, it is a great sum of talented and independent music artists which gather here to entertain the audience. There are a bunch of people who live to hear some amazing and original music apart from cliché songs and this festival is just the place for them. It is a perfect amalgamation of art, culture, expressions, life and music.

Music is one thing which is understandable to all but not everyone can really convey it to the listeners and hence the artists taking part in the festival are really gifted and proficient in what they do. The Indie music festival together comprises of 6000 attendees, 40 musicians, 2 stages and a weekend full of cheer and play. It was founded back in 2012 by Bobby Hano and Anup Kutty and the list of contributors is much larger now. The craze of the fiesta is continuously growing and Ziro has become a famous tourist destination now. It is altogether a call for a rejuvenating vacation in the lap of nature with of course some rock and roll music in the background. A wish come true.

Event Details

The larger than life festival is organized by the Apatani people of Ziro and is a three-day festival. This year it is starting on the 27th of September and ends on 30th of September. People can opt for accommodation from the organizers i.e. the tents or they can bring their own. There are other options as well, like lodges or homestays. Tickets can be booked on the official website of Ziro music festival and the prices range from Rs. 3000 to 24000 approximately depending on the inclusions and rush.

I hope you know that it is a sin to say no to music, therefore, it is better to pack your bags and book your tickets as soon as possible as the illustrious festival of music is just around the corner. Let your soul outburst with music and your heart revive in it. All you, melody lovers
