1) Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train Flagged Off

G.Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister of Tourism, Culture, and DONER and Ashwini Vaishvaw, the Minister of Communications, Railways, Information Technology and Electronics, flagged off the much-awaited Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train. It is the first tourist train connecting Nepal with India. The train will begin its journey with an 18-day Shri Ramayana Yatra and operate on the Ramayana Circuit.

2) Heathrow Airport In London Limits Passengers At 100,000 A Day

Heathrow Airport in London has decided to limit the number of passengers to 100,000 a day to avoid cancellations, baggage delays, and long queues. To implement the decision, airlines have been asked to stop selling tickets for flights that can be curtailed. Heathrow Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and presently, it is struggling with demand rebounds. This decision is expected to ensure a safe and reliable journey for the passengers.

3) Akasa Air Gets Flying Permit; Ready To Operate from Month-End

Akasa Air, promoted by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, has successfully completed regulatory compliance and has been granted AOC. It is going to be the eighth domestic airline operating in India. Akasa Air is ready to fly by this month-end.

4) Rajasthan Government Gives Industry Status to Tourism Sector

Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Mr Ashok Gehlot, announced the industry status of the tourism and hospitality sector in his budget announcement. The notification to this effect was announced recently. This announcement is expected to bring many benefits to the sector, like several taxes and electricity tariffs at par with other industries rather than much-higher commercial rates.

5) Bhutan Reopen Borders At Triple Tourist Tax

Bhutan is set to reopen its borders with a triple tourist tax. The government is going to charge $200 or INR 15,985 per tourist per day as Sustainable Development Fee. This decision is in sync with their tourism policy of High Value, Low Volume. The fee thus collected will be used to take steps to reduce carbon footprint. The government will also use this money to upgrade workers' skills in the travel and hospitality sectors.
