Teesta Tea & Tourism Festival is celebrated in the beautiful city of Darjeeling which is located in the foothills of the Himalayas in the state of West Bengal. The festival is organised by West Bengal Tourism, Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council, Sikkim Tourism and Tourism Department of Indian Government. The motive behind organising the festival is to promote tourism and tea plantation in Darjeeling. It is a yearly festival that takes place in November and December and runs for three weeks.
Darjeeling ranks amongst the most popular black tea producing places in the world and this festival is another effort to remain in the list. Jowre & Juhari Songs. The festival witnesses the presence of several artists from Northeast and Nepal singing folk songs like Jowre & Juhari. The folk songs are basically about spreading love and affection towards nature.
Rosia Songs. It is an old folk song that is sung during the cultivation. Since Teesta Tea and Tourism Festival is also a festival that promotes cultivation, local talents can be seen singing and performing on this song.
Maruni Naach. This is a Nepali dance form that is performed in Darjeeling, India and other countries of South Asia, such as Bhutan and Myanmar. It is mostly performed by women wearing traditional attire.
Several big names of Bollywood also attend the festival and make it more impactful. Stars like Mahima Chaudhary(who also hails from Northeast), and Zeenat Aman have attended the festival in the past.

Bungee Jumping. It is one of the most popular activities one can enjoy in the captivating Darjeeling.
By Air. The closest airport is Bagdogra Airport which is just 95 kilometres away from the city centre. There are also direct flights available from Guwahati, Kolkata, and Delhi. Once you reach the airport, you can easily take a bus, auto or taxi. It will take 2-3 hours to reach Darjeeling.
By Rail. The New Jalpaiguri is the nearest railway station to Darjeeling. It is well-connected to the major cities of India like Guwahati, Delhi, Chennai, Bhuvneshwar, Bengaluru, and Kochi. You can also hire a private cab from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station to Darjeeling.
