India Gate

The monument is a homage to the 70,000 British Indian Army personnel who died in World War I. History Of India Gate

India Gate was included in the IIWGC, the Imperial War Graves Commission. Earlier, it was a war grave and memorial for martyrs who sacrificed their lives during World War I. Then, It was named as All India War Memorial on February 10, 1921, in the presence of the Duke of Connaught, officers of the British Indian Army, Imperial Service Troops, Commander-in-Chief, and Chelmsford and the viceroy.
