As a result of this war, by 1815, the Gorkhas were completely excavated from the region. Then, in 1825, Mussoorie was established with a new identity of chilled-out travel getaway. This was done by a British official - Captain Young.
In 1901, Mussoorie had become a popular place due to which its population touched about 6,461, and in the same year, in the summer season, it grew to about 15,000 inhabitants. It was also the same five-year period between 1900-1905 when railways were introduced in the region. Due to this, the travel distance to Mussoorie that was 93 km (by road) was shortened to about 34 km.
1. Lal Tibba
It is located on the top of Depot Hill in Landour which is about 6 kilometers from Mussoorie. The name of Lal Tibba literally means the red hill. Due to its natural beauty, it comes across as an incredible tourist attraction to visit in Mussoorie.
2. Lake Mist
