Barura Sharif fair is held every year in the memory of a Sufi Saint named Data Amir Ali Shah who was an epitome of humanity. He has a great influence on people irrespective of their religion, caste or creed. His shrine is located at Barura Sharif which is just 12 kms from Pratappur at the banks of river Sat Bahini, Jharkhand.

The fair is held here, and many rituals are performed whereas people come from faraway places to pay homage to the respected saint. This fair is carried for 10 days in the month of Chaitra according to Hindu calendar. 

Major attractions of Barura Sharif

The shrine of Barura Sharif is at a height of 10 feet from the river and thus people have to cross the stream to get to the shrine. The annual fair celebrated at the location is grand in ceremony and celebration.

People from all around the country come to seek blessings from the saint irrespective of their religion or culture.

How to reach Barura Sharif?

The festival is celebrated in Chatra in the state of Jharkhand. The place is not yet connected by air or rail but Gaya, Bihar is the nearest airport or railway station to the district.
