This Rath Yatra is one of the major events in Orissa and many other parts of India. You can ask about it to anybody and you will get a satisfactory answer on how important it is for the devotees of Lord Krishna and their siblings. People carry the idols of the three deities i.e. the Lord Krishna and his two siblings from Jagannath temple to Gundicha temple every year after bathing the idols and offering them prayers. This festival has a huge place in the hearts of the people and hence they give utter value to this yatra.
Hundreds of people gather to take the idols in decorated chariots, and one will observe a belief so strong and the power of that belief. It takes place in Puri in the month of June or July.

The holy festival is celebrated in Puri city of Odisha. The nearest airport to the city is in Bhubaneshwar which is 60 kms from there. The Puri railhead is connected to various major cities of the country.
