The Sabarimala temple is a pilgrimage place for the devotees from all over the state and country and the festival is celebrated there itself. The festival is celebrated each year in order to worship the deity Lord Ayyappa. Thousands of devotes gather around the festival to offer their prayers and seek blessings.

It is a pilgrimage tour taken by people uphill and is a truly secular spirit where everyone gathers irrespective of their religion, caste or anything. The festival lasts long from November to January.

Major attractions of Sabarimala Festival

During this festival, people of Kerala go on a pilgrimage tour to a steep uphill irrespective of their caste, color, or creed. People also stop in between the journey to offer prayers to a Muslim diety in order to ensure that the journey less stressful. 

The Sabarimal Temples is beautifully decorated and the Lord Ayappa is also decorated with amazing dazzling jewelleries brought from Pandalam Palace in a procession.
