Nanda Devi Fair is mainly celebrated by the people who religiously have faith in the Goddesses Nanda and Sunanda but again being present during the time of celebration is a worthy experience which will educate a person about the rituals and culture of Uttarakhand. Though this festival is held at various locations in the state but Almora is one of the most famous out of them. There are several different temples in the entire state and hence the number of fairs organized are also more. People enjoy them greatly and thus it is a top most key attraction of Almora.

Major attractions of Nanda Devi Fair

The fair is a great opportunity for tourists to witness and explore the folk culture of Kumaon region which consists of its folk songs and dances which are absolute delight to watch.

People perform and offer prayers and flowers to give tribute to Nanda Devi.

At the last day of the festival, everyone takes Nanda Devi and Sunanda Devi on palanquin to submerge in the holy waters.
