When you need, God knows. When you ask, God listens. When you believe, God works. Similar is the thought behind the Garia Puja. It is celebrated because people have tremendous belief in the Lord Garia who provides blessings and fulfil the needs of the worshippers. Do not get mistaken thinking that the festival is a dull one and will not excite you, it is celebrated with a lot of energy and zeal. Anything in the festival which is not considered pleasing to the God is restricted. It usually happens in the month of April for about 7 days in a row.
The festival is followed by dance acts which are again very entertaining. The tribal devotees are the main participants of the event.
A bamboo pole is symbolized as the Lord who is then offered flowers, fowl blood and more.
Everything is performed in order to please Lord Garia which is the main motive.
