How about a Buffalo fight? Sounds interesting. Well, India has so many ancient traditions which are still widely followed and some of them have an influence of the western culture like this one. Buffalo fight is a visual treat to the eyes who wants some fun and entertainment and race the blood in their body faster. Festival of Sair is just that. It is celebrated to mark the end of crop harvest and also on this day people remove their rakhi threads which are offered to Siair mother.
Fairs are organized in many areas of Himachal to celebrate the festival with fun and enthusiasm. There are drums, loud music and trumpets to welcome the God from heaven which is a common belief of people.
A large audience come and witness this fight and enjoy it thoroughly. Along with the fight, the fair also has some stalls for selling goods to the people coming to the fair. One can get pottery, utensils, cloths and accessories which they can take back home for their loved ones.
The festival is though celebrated in many parts of the state of Himachal Pradesh but Shimla is the most visited place and thus one can enjoy the charm of festival in the city. It is easily rechable by road, rail and air. The nearest railway station is Kalka railway which is about 96 kms and is connected to many major cities of the country. The nearest airport is 20 kms away from Shimla and is connected to some cities like Delhi, Chandigarh etc.
