Located in the Kishtwar district, this park is located on a plateau above the Chenab river. What is really interesting to know about this place is that even saffron is grown here, however for a limited amount of time only. This national park covers an area of around 400 sq.km. The best time to visit Kishtwar National Park is from March to October. During this time the overall climate is quite good for sightseeing. 

How to reach Kishtwar National Park

Air: The nearest airport is located in Jammu which is around 250 km away from the park. This airport has very good connectivity with nearby and major Indian cities like Delhi, Pune, Chandigarh, Kolkata etc. So, from here you would need to get a cab or some other means of transportation to reach your destination to further cover a distance of about 220 kms.

Road: The overall connectivity via road is not that good. The road is properly only made till Ikhala and from there you can avail the bus services which are available there. 

By Train: The nearest railway station is located is the Jammu station located at a distance of around 200-220 km from Kishtwar National Park. It has very good connectivity from nearby and major cities like Delhi, Pune, Mumbai etc. Some good options are Jhelum Express, Jammu Tawi Rajdhani Express, Udhampur AC Express. From there you would need to get a cab or some other means of transportation to reach your destination.
