The city of Jamshedpur is the most urban and populous city of the state of Jharkhand. It is known as the industrial city of India because of being home to the world’s tenth largest steel company, Tata Steel. The idea of making a steel factory on such a large scale came in 19th century to Jamshedji Tata who came with the idea after he met steelmakers in Pittsburg. The industry saw massive growth and the city got the name of its maker.
Jamshedpur known as Tatanagar is a very famous city of the state. People sometimes even recognize Jharkhand with the name of Jamshedpur. One can easily reach the city through railways via Tatanagar junction. There is just a small airport in Sonari which is used to bring chartered planes of Tata group presently but there are still cities nearby with airports to reach Jamshedpur.
