Bastar is a district in the state of Chhattisgarh. It is surrounded by other districts of Orissa state as well. It has a unique culture which is a blend of Odia, tribal culture and the original culture of Chhattisgarh. The district is famous for steel plants and cement factories also. Jabalpur which is the district headquarters is well connected to the nearby cities by road. Raipur is the nearest railway station to reach Bastar.

Places to visit in Bastar

Kutumsar Caves

Sited at a distance of 40 km. from the main city and Kutumsar Caves are actually the underground caves and positioned at a depth of 35 m below the ground level. One can explore the unusual formation of stalagmites and stalactites. These are considered as the second largest caves across the globe.

Bastar Palace

One of the significant landmarks of the city connects the rich history and achieved a special position in the tourist places in Chhattisgarh. Various visitors come to this palace to appreciate its beauty as this monument is now under the supervision of the government. Experience historical sites, scenic beauty, and tribal culture.

Kailash Gupha

Sited inside the mountain, cutting of rocks, not just the rocks, fountains and plantains are also enhancing the beauty and thus, create an amazing charm. Sweet water can be tasted over here; visitors come to this place regularly and Kailash Gupha positioned close to the Samarbar Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya.

Danteshwari Temple

It’s an ancient temple constructed under the supervision of the king of Bastar in order to inhabit the family Goddess, Devi Danteshwari. Sited close to the Gole Bazar and visitors reach to this place during famous Bastar Dussehra festival season. The temple is decorated with colorful lights during this festival where traditional functions also take place.
