Kushinagar, a town enriched with magnificence, scenic beauty all over, tranquil surroundings, draws in a space in the heart of every visitor. One such destination where Buddha came to this place in order to free from the cycles of death and life, it turns into a reason the spot has turned fascinating and is enchanting for every Buddhist.
A small temple, constructed in the old Buddhist architecture style, the statue here is made of monolith red sandstone. In the surrounding area of the temple, various stupas have been constructed and ruins of four monasteries.
Wat Thai Temple
Wat Thai Temple is a big complex Kushinagar, the temple was built in the old Thai-Buddhist architectural style. The temple was constructed in the memory of King Bhumibol’s accession to the throne of Thailand. Bordered with various trees, plants and shrubs.
Also known with a name Nirvana Chaityam, sited behind the Mahaparinirvana temple and this Stupa is 2.74 m in height and discovered by British archaeologists in 1876. Not just temple, a copper vessel containing silver coins of the 5th century have been identified.
One more name has been given to the Chinese temple and name is Linh Sun Temple where you’ll find a statue of Lord Buddha. It is constructed in the Vietnamese and Chinese architectural style. Free accommodation is also offered by the temple management.
