Punjab is an overwhelming state and every part of it speaks a different flavor altogether. One such city of the state is Anandpur Sahib in the district of Rupnagar. It lies on the edge of Shivalik Hills and is also near to the Sutlej river. The place is highly valuable for all Sikhs as the last two Gurus lived here and also one of the five Takhts of Sikhism is situated here. It is a site of pilgrims where people of Sikhism come to seek blessings in the Keshgarh Sahib Gurudwara. It is one of the biggest pilgrimage centers in India. There can be seen a large gathering at the place during Hola Mohalla in spring. Anandpur Sahib has been quite prominent in the history as well. It was found in 1665 by the ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur. The city is quite close to the state of Himachal Pradesh as well. There are many historic places and Gurudwaras which are significant for Sikhism.
The city is located on National Highway 503 that connects to Kiratpur Sahib, Chandigarh to Nangal leading to Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. One can easily reach here by road or railways.
