Atukkad Waterfalls

The Atukkad Waterfalls is nestled around 2km away from Munnar amidst the beautiful hills and lush greenery. Moreover, the pristine waterfalls are an amazing option for picnic sites. The road to Atukkad is quite narrow and particularly needs a lot of experience to drive on the driver’s end.

Pothamedu Viewpoint

Chokramudi Peak

The Chokramudi peak is specifically located in the Eravikulam National Park at an altitude of around 7200 feet. The Chokramudi peak is also one of the highest peaks situated in Munnar. Thrissur Pooram Festival

The Thrissur Pooram festival is celebrated in the month of May. It is undoubtedly one of the most momentous festivals which is celebrated in Munnar. This is a massive show where you will find at least 30 elephants walking through the streets carrying a symbolic of revered loyalty. Furthermore, it is just a scenic delight to see the elephants standing with an amazing dignity and discipline and conch shells are played in the background.  

Attukal Pongala

The Attukal Pongala women is an affair which is celebrated in the month of February. This is perhaps the only temple in the world where women assemble and make offerings by cooking the pudding for the goddess in the Attukal temple.

Best time to visit in Munnar

If you are planning your trip to Munnar then the best time to visit this place is between June to September.  The climatic conditions are quite pleasant during this time.
