Kalimpong is a beautiful hill station in the state of West Bengal. Kalimpong is known for some of its major educational institutions which were established in the colonial period of British time. The hill town is located at a location to overlook the Teesta river which makes it a tourist destination because of its natural beauty and soothing climate all around the year. Its Himalayan beauty and magnificent views drive people crazy and attract them instantly. The place also hosts a wide market of flowers having explicit varieties of orchids and other nurseries. Tourism is the significant contributors of Kalimpong’s economy. Kalimpong is a major ginger growing region apart from the state of Sikkim.

One can easily reach this hill station by air, road and railways. Bagdogra is the nearest airport which is around 80 km. The closest and the nearest railway station is in New Jalpaiguri i.e. at the outskirts of Siliguri which is connected with all major cities of the nation. BY road, Kalimpong lies on National Highway 31A which links Sevok and Gangtok.

Durpin Dara Hill

The Durpin Dara Hill is a great travel getaway which offers some of the most panoramic views of Kalimpong. Moreover, the snow-clad Himalayan ranges of the West Sikkim along with its valleys, the Durpin Dara Hill is also a place which has a golf course along with the Zang Dhok Palri Monastery.  

Cactus Nursery

The cactus nursery is the largest number of commercial flower nurseries which specialize in overall cultivation of exotic and beautiful flowers which export in the different parts of the country.

Morgan House

This has been located in the verdant greens of Kalimpong, Morgan House has been built by Mr and Mrs Morgan in the decade of 1930s. Fundamentally, it is a bungalow belonging to the British era and offers on dot views of the second highest Himalayan peak Mt. Kanchenjunga.

Teesta River Rafting

By Air - The Bagdogra airport is the nearest airport which is located at a distance of 79 km from Kalimpong. From there, you will either have to catch a taxi or some other means of transportation.

By Road - The connectivity via road is quite good. So, if you are planning to visit Kalimpong via road then it would be a convenient experience for you.

By Train - New Jalpaiguri Railway station is located at a distance of 77 km from Kalimpong. From there, you will need to get a cab or some other means of transportation.
